Overview

Are you a passionate innovator looking to harness the power of technology to do more good? You’ve come to the right place. At Bonterra, our purpose is to power those who power social impact. To that end, we serve the people who make social good possible—the doers behind the scenes across nonprofits, public agencies, corporations, philanthropic organizations, and foundations.

As the second-largest and fastest-growing social good software company in the world, Bonterra brings together leading solutions from CyberGrants, EveryAction, Network for Good, Social Solutions, and their respective entities. By bringing our intuitive technology and expertise together, Bonterra will enable unprecedented connectivity between social good organizations and their community of supporters and constituents. This will reshape philanthropic giving, empower digital transformation, and bring the social good sector the technology it needs to accelerate lasting social change.

We are currently operating as a remote workforce and have equipped our teams with the technology to stay connected to each other and our customers.

Responsibilities & Requirements

At Bonterra, our Product Managers combine a passion for discovery efforts, a desire to constantly engage with clients, leadership skills to drive change for our clients, quantitative skills to measure impact, and presentation skills to evangelize their visions. We progress beyond a myopic focus on “what to do today” towards “what we need to build for tomorrow.” The impact of our work empowers non-profit and public-sector organizations whose goals are to help those who need it most, and our products must live up to those lofty ideals every day.

About the role

This Product Manager role will be responsible for developing ground-level capabilities in our Case Management Platform, on which the organizations build their service delivery models. Our social-good organization (SGO) clients must be able to quickly and effectively construct the best version of our platform to fit their organization’s needs, across communities and geographies, extending critical features to ensure their teams are setup to succeed. Understanding our SGO clients’ delivery models, tools, and processes to best design the future of how our software can empower those processes will be critical to our success, and you will be leading the charge.

Who you are

  • You have a penchant for discovery. You’re constantly engaging with customers and users, using your quantitative skills to measure impact.
  • You have a proven ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints. You use sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
  • You have a deep understanding of growth tactics and network effects. You have some experience building successful consumer-facing or enterprise SaaS products. Experience with products within the NPO or social-good space is a bonus!
  • You thrive in a highly-collaborative and customer-facing environment. You are passionate about working alongside different teams and understand that the best products are the result of many individuals contributing their passion and ideas to discover creative solutions.
  • You have the communication skills to influence and inform effectively. You will need to influence your teammates and stakeholders, be able to convey concepts to a variety of audiences, and present updates clearly to customers and users.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and evangelize a vision that delivers valuable and usable capabilities to our clients within our software platform
  • Develop a roadmap that focuses on maximizing real-world impact and business outcomes, including prioritization of feedback from internal and external sources, weighing trade-offs, and driving buy-in from stakeholders, to enable our clients to run their service delivery programs more effectively and efficiently.
  • Lead a talented, driven, cross-functional team to execute our product strategy and achieve the company’s goals. You’ll work with engineering, design, finance, sales, marketing, and operations––often all in the same day.
  • Translate ideas and requirements into detailed product plans that not only guides our delivery, but also centers on our users and connects the work to our vision.
  • Form a deep understanding of our users’ experience and needs, through proactive discovery, constant engagement with our partners and users, and hands-on analysis.
  • Foster deep relationships with all departments, so that you understand the impact of our decisions on the company as a whole.
  • Drive the execution of end-to-end product lifecycle processes, including initial discovery, competitive analysis, market positioning, training, go-to-market, launch, and post-release iteration.
  • Constantly measure and communicate the impact of your team’s work, and drive accountability within our product planning and delivery processes.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of enterprise software or consumer-facing product management, software engineering, or an equivalent education or career (NPO/PubSec) background.
  • Experience using data to inform design and product decisions
  • Excellent time management skills and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills that ensure everyone is driving towards the product goals together and buy in to the product vision
  • Basic understanding of how modern technology systems are designed and built
  • Experience with product management tools (ie. JIRA and Aha!) is beneficial
  • Experience within SaaS and non-profit / case management products strongly preferred
