Responsibilities & Requirements

As an SRE at Social Solutions you will empower our DevOPS, DataArchitecture and Development teams to improve the performance of our products and services. As we deploy and scale rapidly the SRE team creates insights by building and enhancing tools that support our growth. A successful candidate will draw on experience with operating systems, cloud services and databases to remediate any issues that arise with this growth.


We are looking for a candidate with curiosity. If you are a software and infrastructure detective and enjoy improving technological solutions by finding and remediating the root cause of problems, then you would be a good fit for the team. You will need to collaborate with multiple teams and be able to collate information from many sources and then present the best solution to address the problem.



Key areas for a SRE Engineer

  • Champion the Site Reliability Engineering practice
  • Create and enhance existing tooling to provide insight into product performance
  • Keep our infrastructure updated and secure
  • Create new infrastructure in a repeatable and sustainable way
  • Seek out root causes and provide best practices to remediate problems
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software applications

Key Areas for the SRE team

  • Bring a software development approach to cloud operations
  • Focus on analysis and improvement of system uptime
  • Provide infrastructure and product performance insights to supported teams
  • Incident response and resolution support for infrastructure and product teams
  • Capacity planning and implementation

Expertise required

  • Expertise in AWS Cloud infrastructure and services
  • Cloud Formation and Terraform experience
  • Management and orchestration of docker containers
  • Programmatic approach to problem solving using Python
  • Understanding of Application Performance Management tools such as Datadog and/or New Relic
  • 2 years of experience managing infrastructure
  • 2 years of development experience
  • Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent experience
